Allow users to remove or shrink the 2.5 inches on dead space that includes the Google Search bar at the top of the browser page.

I haven't seen any developer comments - let alone any bug fixing - in many months. I think they just gave up. Or they are collecting everyone's e-mails and passwords. I deleted my netvibes account and am now using the default Firefox homepage and have created a bookmark for the Google Tasks that opens in the Firefox Sidebar. Not ideal, but it'll do.

Dead space needs to be resizable, google search needs to open as a regular tab.
I need to get rid of the google search bar altogether-- it doesn't work! Runs too slowly to be useful
I have the same issue, I don't want the 2.5 inches it is a waste,, we don't need a Google search in IE as the address bar does that I want to utilize my whole page.
Click Settings, go to General, uncheck Show Title, Show Search.
