Things are definitely going downhill. A year or so ago, the only apps available were a few 'essential' apps, which I noted here:
    http://faq.netvibes.com/forums/214378-general/suggestions/38844772-what-happened-to-all-the-apps
I've been having some apps start to die. I had to re-create one for USA Today. Recently, the CBS News app died. Even more, when I went to create a new one, you can no longer create a multi-tab app. I had to create a whole new tab filled with individual apps for each feed.
As for alternates, I haven't found any that really use something like the app mode. When the USA Today issue started, I recreated it on Inoreader, which is free for basic use, but only has a list mode.

I can add that the USA Today app just started working. Again, this is something listed in your standard News apps available.

I have no idea what the RSS feed is. This is one of your own apps. In fact, it's listed in your 'Essential Apps' section (near bottom-right as "Yahoo! News".)

The Yahoo News app seems to be acting up again. Most of the tabs are now picking up virtually no new news, whereas the Science tab is getting more than normal. Normally, the main World, US, Politics and Technology tabs would have 100+ messages when I checked in the morning. Now, beginning Feb 17, they only have 3-4. Many marked February 16 were actually several days old. Also, it's not properly decoding some code, so, for example, the apostrophe " ' ", is showing as "'"

As for July 9, this seems to be fixed.

At least in APP mode, modules with multiple tabs no longer allow you to clear the unread counter by clicking on the gray number next to the title. This is similar to the mail apps change that took place a number of months ago.

I also had an issue on one app (NBC News) where clicking on the red unread for a single tab would not clear the unread, except for the first tab.

As of this week, it seems to have cleared up.

As of 5:30PM, the World tab now only goes back to 1:12PM (about 26 entries.)

I have been seeing this on Google News widget, when set to open on original site, and using Firefox. Internet Explorer seems to work.
