First, the other thread I started at http://faq.netvibes.com/forums/214378-general/suggestions/17479012-i-hate-new-reader-app-view was not deleted. It was merged into this one. You can see my original post at the very bottom.
I have also noticed a new bug with this update. Sometimes, when I click on the unread number on a multi-tab app to mark all read, it doesn't always appear to clear. But, if I then click on a tab, it suddenly clears. It is set to load all tabs and display unread for each.
Update Dec 21 afternoon: It looks like someone is reading this. The unread text appears to be a bit darker. Also, hovering the mouse over an entry now has the preview text.
I looked at some of the alternates other mentioned. Protopage seems to only display up to 10 entries in a widget, with no scrolling. Start.me gave a McAfee web warning when I tried to go to the examples page, with details showing PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) issues.Andrew Rossmann supported this idea ·
Also, it no longer has the popup with the first few words of the article when you hover your mouse over a title, at least in Condensed mode.
The recent change to the reader app view is horrible. I do not like the 'new' infinite scrolling view. I much prefer limiting it to a fixed number of items per page. It would also be nice if the unread messages were a bit darker. They used to be black. Now I have medium gray versus light gray. That medium gray is very hard to read.
As for July 9, this seems to be fixed.
At least in APP mode, modules with multiple tabs no longer allow you to clear the unread counter by clicking on the gray number next to the title. This is similar to the mail apps change that took place a number of months ago.
I also had an issue on one app (NBC News) where clicking on the red unread for a single tab would not clear the unread, except for the first tab.
As of this week, it seems to have cleared up.
As of 5:30PM, the World tab now only goes back to 1:12PM (about 26 entries.)
I have been seeing this on Google News widget, when set to open on original site, and using Firefox. Internet Explorer seems to work.
